Volunteerwork

When I had just graduated as a Digital Content Designer from Medieinstitutet, I was scrolling through Instagram when I saw an ad. Svenska Djurambulansen or SvDa (The Swedish Animal Ambulance) needed a volunteer Content Creator. My first thought was; what's better than using my skills and some of my free time for something good that I believe in? So, I sent in my application, and a few weeks later, I was part of the SvDa Social Media team. I also held the role of Campaign Manager during six months year 2023.

Wall Calendar 2024

The brief was to create a wall calendar for 2024, each month with a different animal accompanied by their story of how SvDa has helped them in a time of need. SvDa didn't have CMYK codes at the time so I converted their RGB colors, created the layout using the new colors and photographs by Linda Otterstedt, wrote some of the copy myself, and after a few weeks of work, sent the print ready files to Sib-Tryck in Stockholm, Sweden.

How The Team Works

SvDa is sponsored with the premium version of Canva, so most of the work is done there, although I usually use Photoshop and After Effects to create any content that Canva isn't able to provide. Other than that, the main platforms used to plan content and communicate are Trello and Teams. The Social Media Team creates posts, stories, and ads for Instagram and Facebook to give followers insight into the organization and to spread awareness.
